The stand-up Beth Stelling reminds me so much of my best friend from high school.
Stelling belongs to a different tradition: Her comedy emerges from an onstage character as rich and resonant as a great movie protagonist.
Even if you don’t know someone like Stelling, her fully realized performance makes you feel as if you do.
She once again uses him as a comic target, telling scathingly deadpan stories about his eccentricities, centering one bit on his raccoon collection.
But watching her roast him you can’t help but think that some of his performance chops rubbed off on her.
